day sixty-six: i’d like to thank gene roddenberry

My pants have a waistband. I still need to figure out the finish, but they’re basically done.

I spent all that time yesterday sewing the lining to the outer fabric, and today I ripped out one side entirely, and sewed it to the waistband in a similar fashion to how I sewed the lining into my shirt.

i used silk thread for this

I turned the top of the pants over to sew ont he waistband, and then when I wanted to sew down the other side, I raised that flap up and sewed the inside down with a herringbone stitch, with the flap inside the waistband. I think it made the attachment more secure.

It looks nice, I think.

So essentially, it’s all over but the cuffs and maybe some belt loops. I’ll see about making those tomorrow; I don’t think it’ll take long.

I’m pleased. I’ll try them on tomorrow.

Oh, and the title of this post? This waistband is brought to you by Season Two of Star Trek: Discovery. Wow, it started not that strong, but holy shit what a season finale.

It’s kinda killing me that I won’t get to see the end tonight, but I’ve waited this long. I need to get some sleep. Night, y’all.
