day sixty-five: what a waist

The waistband is ready to be attached to the pants. All that’s left is to trim down the top of the pants so I can sew it on, and don’t think that isn’t nerve-wracking.

On the other hand, if I screw it up and cut the top too short, I can piece in a patch. I’m smart that way.

i used silk to sew the lining to the wool waistband with an overcast stitch

now that the lining is sewn in, i’ll sew the waistband to the pants by binding the top edge

i cut the waistband on the grain for greater stability and less stretch
