day forty-nine: new tools

I didn't actually get anything concrete done today, other than looking at the thread I made out of the Manx fiber against the yellow wool I'm planning to use for my tunic.

the beige skein came out of the dye pot i made with Axel a couple of weeks ago

i'm planning to muck about with the pH to see what happens

I do rather like the brown Manx thread, but I really think red or blue would be pretty. I'll think on it. I have a few days to ponder.

I got some new tools tonight. I found a seller on Etsy, 3gwoodworks, that has great prices, and holy smoke, the shipping was fast. I ordered these spindles on Friday and they arrived from Idaho on Monday.

The large one is 0.75 ounces, curly koa wood, with a 7” shaft and 3” whorl. The mini one is a redwood burl with a resin ribbon, weighing only 0.27 ounces with a 4” shaft and a 1.5” whorl. It is adorable, weighs as much as a feather, and might be a challenge to spin on because the shaft is so short, but it might be fun to try. Look how pretty this is, though!

I'm still waiting for a couple more things from Etsy. One order is coming from Rhode Island and it hasn't even shipped yet, while the order coming from farthest away got here in THREE DAYS.

Anyway, that's the state of the Tasha and Tasha's fiber tool box for tonight. It's time and past time for bed. Night, y'all.
