day twenty-nine: LAYER ONE DONE!

I’m in the process of finishing my shirt right now. There are these tabs on the side of the flaps that hang down front and back that are meant to wrap around the hips. They’re only a couple of inches wide (mostly), so it’s not really a wrap-around skirt vibe. The back wraps around on top, and I discovered that the tab on the right is a lot wider than the tab on the left — like an inch. Oh well.

I sewed the front tab to the inside of the back, using a sort of… baseball stitch to sew it to the lining.

The tabs on the back flap, though, were a different matter. The pictures I’ve seen of other people’s shirts show those tabs angled down a bit at the front, kind of giving a little room for the hips. I pinned them in place and stitched them down with a very tiny, very close hem stitch. I think that the angle of the tab on the right hip (on the left in photos) is a bit extreme, but I can easily change that later if I want.

Okay, I just finished the first cuff.

so pretty.

I have to do the other cuff, and then I’m on to doing the C3 Check-In. I’M SO EXCITED.

I’m going to to turn that cuff now. STAY TUNED.

LAST STITCH

And I’m done. I have to put pictures into my Facebook album, send off my check-in form, and I can turn to the next thing: PANTS. This should be interesting.

If I actually get anywhere with pants tonight, I’ll post. For now, let’s just say… Night, y’all.

Yes, yes, there will be pictures of me wearing it. It’s 10:30pm. I’m tired. Maybe later. 😛
