day thirty-nine: research and errands
I’ve not been productive on the pants today, as I’ve been at my mom’s and we had errands to run. But here and there, I’ve been able to read part of an article about the Hedeby textile finds and the tunic the author built based on those.
He references Die Textilfunde aus dem Hafen von Haithabu (The Textile Finds from the Harbor at Hedeby), by Inga Hägg I have a copy of her work, so once I go thru this article so I can see his conclusions, I’ll find what I can in the book. (It’s in German, which is not one of the three languages I can mostly read.)
I also found the roll of builder’s paper my mom said I could have. Looks like the critters have been nibbling at it, but it’s been in the garage, so I’m not sure what I expected. It's only ugly, not unusable, so I’ll take it home and make the pattern there.
So yeah, that’s about the size of things today. Now I’m going to have dinner with the bestest mom ever, and then toddle home. Might make a pattern when I get there, so I can take the TERRIFYING step of cutting into the fabric. Night, y’all.
