day thirty-three: god i hate muslin
I am less excited about these pants than I wanted to be. It will be better once I get the pattern made and I can start making the actual trousers.
To that end, I’m trying to make a second leg so I can figure out the crotch. I got to whip out my seam allowance rulers to create a margin for trimming down the pieces of muslin, and I’m just about done with the second leg. Which is good, because I’m also just about ready for bed.
I saw these in an Abby Cox video and swore that one day, they would be mine.
my sister has a thing for scissors, i guess i have a thing for measuring instruments.
All that’s left at the moment is to cut the inside leg down to just below the knee. Then I’ll figure out how to make the crotch. I know the shapes I want; I just need to figure out the sizes.
i can’t wait to get these finished
So I’m going to cut that inseam, maybe baste the outseams, and hit the hay. I’ll leave you with one more picture: the fabrics for my tunic and pants.
Enjoy. Night, y’all.
