day ninety-four: one more mock-up
I started the last mock-up for the last piece of clothing today. But before that, because task avoidance is my specialty, I worked a bit on the accessory for my ensemble: a bone buckle for a belt.
1 forget where I found this picture — or rather, what led me to it, but it captivated me.
So today, I started drawing it out and using my iPad to measure it.
it was worth the expense so i could make notes like this
I resized the photo so the black bars were 1 cm wide, and then just used a tape measure to make the measurements you can see on the screen. I drew a box on the bone I plan to use (it's part of a bovine femur I bought at PetSmart), and then drew the buckle inside it.
yes, it looks like a bottle opener
i used the sheath from my Gingher snips to get the curve right
So tomorrow, I'm going to run out and get some tools before it starts snowing again, and then work on the mock-up for my coat. I won't even show you pics of that yet. Not only have I not taken any, but right now it's just a pile of muslin bits. It doesn't look like anything.
Time to hit the hay so I can hit the ground running in the morning. Night, y'all.
