day eighty-nine: yay more patterning

Hi. Happy Christmas, or whatever midwinter celebration you observe. I was at my mom's, spending time with my family, and I only did a few little things. And frankly, I didn't feel like blogging.

Today, however, is another day, and I've made more progress. My next layer for the Challenge is outerwear, so I'm making a Hedeby wrap coat.

I'm basing it on shapes I found on websites by Peter Beatson, from Australia, and Susanne Broomé, from Sweden. They're fairly similar, and I'm going to verify a few things in some of my books first. But it does mean patterning and a muslin, which is fine. At least it's not pants.

i'm not even worrying about sleeves right now.

i'm not even worrying about sleeves right now.

I actually know how I want to pattern this. I just need to finish up the cuffs and hem of the tunic and I'm off to the races.

Right now I'm going to rip out the cuff I sewed at my mom's, because I've decided to go in a different direction with it. Tomorrow I'll go in hard to get the cuffs done so I can work on the bottom hem on Wednesday.

In the meantime, it's bed for me (after I rip this cuff). Night, y'all.
