day fifty-eight: yes, i missed one

Yesterday was Thanksgiving here in the US, so I spent most of the day with my mom giving thanks for all sorts of things. I am not thankful for capers. They are vegetal thieves of joy.

Today, however, I got some things done. I got most of the seams finished enough to turn the top down to attach the waistband… and then I ran out of thread. And since I'm sewing with handspun, I had to make it.

It probably took me two hours to spin and ply everything, and at the end I had 13 feet of two-ply thread at 55 wraps per inch, which is very, very fine indeed. I'd have been able to get back to work a bit quicker, but my steamer is at home, so I had to wet the thread and set the twist in the microwave and then wait for it to dry.

I just finished sewing down the last bit of seam allowance. I wanted to do more, but it's well past time for bed. Hopefully tomorrow I'll start getting the waistband on.

Night, y'all.
